Job summary

The Mannik & Smith Group, Inc. is seeking a Civil Engineer to support commercial site development projects in Columbus, OH. You will contribute to design work, engineering calculations, and construction document packages for a diverse mix of private and public projects.

Ideal candidates have EI certification with potential to obtain PE or PLA within 6–12 months, plus hands-on experience in site development and AutoCAD Civil 3D. Strong collaboration with internal teams and agencies is essential.

Qualifications

• EI certification required, with ability to obtain PE or PLA within 6–12 months.
• Experience in site development design and plan preparation.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and plan set development.

Responsibilities

• Support licensed engineers in the design and preparation of commercial and site development projects.
• Prepare and review engineering calculations, technical designs, and construction document packages.
• Develop feasibility studies, due diligence reports, zoning studies, and early-stage planning documents.
• Perform stormwater modeling, hydraulic/hydrologic analysis, and drainage design.
• Prepare cost estimates and detailed design plans for commercial and mixed-use developments.
• Coordinate with internal MSG teams including Surveying, Geotechnical, Environmental, Structural, Traffic, Transportation, and Construction Services.
• Apply agency standards and design criteria to support permitting and project approvals.
• Engage with reviewing agencies to address comments and guide projects through approvals.
• Support projects from conceptual design through construction documentation.
