Focus on commercial site development across the Midwest with exposure to industrial, residential, energy, and water/wastewater projects. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field, EI certification, and potential PE/PLA within 6–12 months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture, or a related field.
• EI certification required; ability to obtain PE or PLA within 6–12 months.
• Practical experience in site development design and plan preparation.
• Experience applying municipal, county, and state design standards.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D including grading, pipe networks, and plan set development.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support licensed engineers in the design and preparation of commercial and site development projects.
• Prepare and review engineering calculations, technical designs, and construction document packages.
• Develop feasibility studies, due diligence reports, zoning studies, and early-stage planning documents.
• Perform stormwater modeling, hydraulic/hydrologic analysis, and drainage design.
• Prepare cost estimates and detailed design plans for commercial and mixed-use developments.
• Coordinate with internal MSG teams including Surveying, Geotechnical, Environmental, Structural, Traffic, Transportation, and Construction Services.
• Apply agency standards and design criteria to support permitting and project approvals.
• Engage with reviewing agencies to address comments and guide projects through approvals.
• Support projects from conceptual design through construction documentation.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field

EI certification

PE or PLA within 6–12 months
