Job summary

ACCIONA Energía in Chicago is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer to support design, engineering, and construction of wind, solar, and storage facilities. You will review deliverables, coordinate with consultants, and uphold project requirements across civil scope and grounding works.

The role emphasizes field visits, cost forecasting, and ongoing technical documentation, with travel up to 30% and a strong safety focus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• EIT preferred; ability to obtain PE licensure within one year is preferred.
• 2–4 years of civil engineering experience; utility-scale wind/solar/BESS experience desirable.
• Proficiency with MS Office and AutoCAD; knowledge of ArcGIS, AutoTURN, hydraulic modeling, FEM analysis, RSMeans is a plus.
• Understanding of ASCE, AASHTO, ASTM, ACI, AISC, AWS codes.

Responsibilities

• Support design, engineering, and construction of renewable energy facilities by reviewing deliverables and reports.
• Coordinate with engineering consultants and contractors to resolve technical issues and ensure compliance.
• Develop civil design criteria for roads, foundations, drainage, geotechnical investigations, and O&M buildings.
• Perform site visits to monitor construction quality, safety, and progress; support QA/QC.
• Assist with procurement reviews, technical evaluations, and contractor submittals.
• Assist with estimating, cost forecasting, market analysis, and lessons learned documentation.
• Prepare technical reports and KPI metrics to support project execution.
