Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Two years' experience in road and building construction and two years' experience in plan reviews, cost estimates, and inspections.
• Equivalents accepted with a Civil Engineering degree.

Responsibilities

• Establishes, defines, directs and supervises the design and implementation of engineering plans and specifications prepared in-house; reviews and inspects those by contract workers.
• Establishes and reviews design criterion and parameters for civil engineering projects.
• Prioritizes and schedules engineering projects and adheres to deadlines.
• Coordinates departmental design and construction work.
• Plans, designs and directs development of County civil engineering public works projects.
• Assists with computations, drafting and design plans and specifications.
