The City of Portland Bureau of Environmental Services (BES) seeks a Civil Engineer (Engineer-Civil) to join the Construction Management team within the Sewer, Stormwater and Restoration Division (SSRD). The SSRD Construction Management team manages a capital construction portfolio of approximately $80 million annually of municipal sewer and stormwater infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Experience with heavy civil/underground utility construction and project management.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders and promote equitable workplace environment.
• Experience in contract administration including procurement, documentation, change management, and scheduling/budget tracking.
• Knowledge of public works engineering guidelines and experience reviewing or directing complex plans and contracts.
• Experience managing difficult engineering projects including technical research and evaluation of alternatives.

Responsabilités

• Oversee execution of construction contracts from procurement through construction and warranty phase.
• Provide constructability reviews of municipal utility project plans and specs.
• Serve as SME on sewer construction methods, contract administration, and risk mitigation.
• Verify safety measures within project area for contractors and City personnel.
• Oversee technicians and coordinate work of consultants, providing engineering support to bureau teams.
