Job summary

MacKay is seeking a Civil Engineer Project Manager in Roseville, CA to lead land development projects through planning to design completion. You will manage client relationships, project teams, and technical execution while mentoring junior engineers and ensuring adherence to codes and client requirements.

The role emphasizes proactive leadership, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and delivering projects that benefit communities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of civil engineering experience with land development focus.
• PE license in California or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Experience managing project budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong knowledge of local development codes, standards, and permitting processes.
• Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D and other industry design software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to build trusted relationships with clients, colleagues, and public agency staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage land development projects, overseeing scope, schedule, budget, and quality control.
• Serve as the primary client contact and maintain strong relationships.
• Coordinate work of engineering teams, subconsultants, and support staff; identify scope creep.
• Lead preparation of site development plans, reports, calculations, and permits.
• Review/approve designs per codes and client requirements.
• Support business development through opportunities and proposals.
