Job summary

A respected civil engineering firm in Draper, Utah is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer, PE, to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering and 5 to 10 years of relevant experience. Responsibilities include managing project design teams, performing civil design calculations, and conducting field inspections. Competitive salary ranging from $90,000 to $120,000 annually along with a signing bonus. A valid driver's license and PE license (or ability to obtain) are required.

Gilson Engineering and Surveying has an immediate opening for an experienced Civil Engineer, PE, to fill a key role in our Draper, Utah office. We’d love to recognize your experience! Join us and receive a signing bonus when you come on board.

Responsibilities

• Manage project design teams, including but not limited to staffing, marketing, schedules, contract administration and budgets.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced working environment.
• Ability to manage and design multiple projects at one time.
• Perform civil design and analysis calculations using governing codes and standards, engineering formulas, skills, and experience.
• Work closely with CAD staff to provide clear and accurate construction documents.
• Draft sketches, contract documents, and specifications.
• Provide project management on smaller and large projects.
• Review project documents for conformity and quality assurance.
• Develop probable construction cost estimates for projects.
• Observe construction and coordinate with contractors.
• Conduct field inspections and condition assessments and prepare reports.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
• 5 to 10 years of relevant civil experience
• PE license required or ability to obtain within 6 months
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook Software
• Excellent oral and organizational skills.
• Good proofreading and editing skills; effective written and verbal communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Previous team or project management experience
