Qualifications

Our client is seeking a committed Civil Engineer to play a key role in municipal infrastructure development projects in Paarl, Western Cape . You will be involved in the planning, design, and implementation of essential public infrastructure, including roads, water supply, and sanitation systems. This position offers the opportunity to make a tangible contribution to community development and service delivery in a rapidly growing area. We are looking for an engineer with strong project management skills and a solid understanding of municipal engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full project lifecycle for municipal infrastructure projects, from conception to completion.
• Design and oversee the construction of new and upgrade of existing water, wastewater, and stormwater systems.
• Prepare tender documents, specifications, and engineering drawings for municipal projects.
• Ensure compliance with municipal standards, building regulations, and environmental legislation.
• Conduct site inspections and provide technical guidance to contractors during construction.
• Liaise with internal municipal departments, external consultants, and the public on infrastructure matters.

Requirements

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering; Professional registration (Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng) is highly desirable.
• 5+ years of experience in municipal infrastructure design and project management.
• Proven experience in managing projects related to water, sanitation, and roads.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar design software.
