Placements24 seeks a proactive Civil Design Engineer for land development in Paarl, Western Cape. You will design site infrastructure—grading, roads, stormwater, water, and sewer—ensuring compliance with local planning rules and environmental standards.

You’ll prepare detailed drawings and calculations with AutoCAD and Civil 3D, liaise with municipalities for permits, and collaborate with surveyors and architects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 4 years of civil design experience for land development.
• Familiarity with South African land use planning and environmental regulations.
• Strong grasp of stormwater management principles and hydraulic design.

You will be responsible for the design of site infrastructure such as roads, stormwater drainage, water supply, and sewerage systems, ensuring compliance with local planning regulations and environmental standards. Key Responsibilities

• Design site infrastructure, including grading, roads, stormwater management, water reticulation, and sewer systems for land development projects.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Liaise with municipal authorities to obtain necessary permits and approvals for development projects.
• Conduct site inspections to monitor construction progress and ensure adherence to design specifications.
• Collaborate with surveyors, architects, and other consultants to coordinate design efforts.
• Assist in the preparation of tender documents and the evaluation of contractor proposals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in civil design for land development.
