Job summary

NAVFAC Pacific is seeking a journey-level Civil Engineer to join our team and contribute to infrastructure projects for the Navy and Marine Corps. You will design, review, and manage site developments, MILCON programs, and related facilities with a focus on quality and deadlines.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, a Registered Professional Engineer license, 4–10 years of Civil Engineering design experience, a valid driver's license, citizenship, and the ability to obtain a

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET Clearance
  • A US Citizen aged 18 or older at time of hire
  • Males registered or exempt from Selective Service
  • Determined suitable for federal employment (process includes a background check and fingerprinting)

Responsibilities

  • Independently create and evaluate engineering designs for site developments, access roads, utility grids, and waterfront structures. Prepare blueprints, precise cost estimations, and construction specifications.
  • Provide technical administration and management for multi-discipline design projects, leading design charrettes, identifying risks, and ensuring projects are completed within budget and on schedule.
  • Perform rigorous quality reviews on designs submitted by private A/E contracting firms. Draft statements of work to secure external engineering services.
  • Provide expert post-award support, including resolving complex RFIs, reviewing contractor submittals, and conducting critical site visits to solve real-time construction challenges.
  • Act as the organizational expert in civil engineering, resolving complex design issues and mentoring the next generation of junior engineers.
