Job summary

State of Louisiana seeks a Civil Engineer for the Construction and Facilities Management Office (CFMO). You will review plans, develop civil drawings, and perform site assessments to ensure safe, compliant facilities projects.

The position requires a PE license, ABET-accredited degree, and FE/PE certification with four years of post-graduation experience. Office-based, with state-wide project work and regular QA coordination.

Qualifications

• Current Professional Engineer License.
• BA/BS in an ABET-accredited engineering program.
• FE and PE examinations completed.
• Four years of progressive engineering experience since graduation.
• Maintain 30 PDH every two years, at least 1 PDH/year in Ethics; 4 PDHs yearly in Life Safety Code/Building Codes/ADA.

Responsibilities

• Review civil plans submitted by contracted A/E firms and mark up designs.
• Develop and refine civil drawings and specifications using CAD software.
• Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, soil tests, and surveys for location suitability.
• Manage project life cycles, including cost estimation and scheduling.
• Coordinate with contractors, senior leadership, and cross-functional teams.
