Stillpoint AEC, partnered with Stillpoint Talent Group, seeks a Civil Engineer specialized in land development to lead site civil design across residential, commercial, industrial, and mixed-use projects in Chicago, IL. You will guide feasibility, permitting, and construction documentation with a collaborative team.

The role emphasizes zoning coordination, regulatory compliance, and mentorship, leveraging PE licensure where available. Hybrid work options may apply based on project needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Preferred licensure: Professional Engineer (PE); EIT candidates considered.
• Experience in land development/site civil design within an engineering/AEC environment is preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D for land development is preferred.
• Experience with stormwater/hydrologic/hydraulic modeling platforms (HydroCAD, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, StormCAD, ICPR or similar).
• Knowledge of land development standards, municipal regulations, and permitting processes.
• Experience preparing civil calculations, grading plans, drainage plans, and construction documents.

Responsibilities

• Design land development and site civil projects for residential, commercial, industrial, multifamily, mixed-use, and institutional developments.
• Perform site planning, grading, drainage, stormwater management, utility design, erosion and sediment control, and construction document preparation.
• Develop site layouts, grading, drainage, utilities, erosion control, and detailed civil drawings.
• Design water distribution, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, detention/retention facilities, and site infrastructure.
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic calculations and related design analyses.
• Prepare calculations, technical reports, plans, specs, cost estimates, permitting packages, and construction documents.
• Support feasibility studies, due diligence, preliminary engineering, permit coordination, bidding, and construction administration.
• Coordinate with developers, municipalities, utility authorities, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Support zoning, entitlement, site plan approvals, permitting, and regulatory coordination.
• Provide project coordination, technical guidance, client interaction, and mentorship as appropriate.
