Job summary

Larimer County seeks a Civil Engineer to review land development proposals for compliance with policies, standards, and regulations. The role includes evaluating plans and reports, preparing comments, and presenting recommendations at Board of County Commissioners hearings.

The position involves coordinating with local agencies, overseeing construction phases, and serving as a technical resource for the public and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of civil engineering principles as they relate to public works and land development.
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques used in private development and public works.
• Ability to perform engineering calculations and review, design, and prepare engineering plans, studies, profiles, and maps.

Responsibilities

• Review land development proposals for compliance with County policies, design standards, and regulations.
• Evaluate construction plans and reports prepared by civil engineering consultants.
• Prepare technical review comments and present engineering recommendations at public meetings.
• Coordinate with local agencies on master plan development and adoption.
• Oversee construction phase of land development projects and monitor progress.
• Serve as a technical resource to the public, consultants, developers, and staff.
• Respond to questions from community members.
