Job summary

BL Companies in Warwick, RI is seeking a Civil Engineer Mid-Level – Land Development to join our multidisciplinary team. You will design and review land development projects, coordinate permit applications, and work across offices to advance site designs from concept through construction.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of land development experience, proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, a BS in Civil Engineering, and strong communication skills. EIT is preferred; PE is a plus.

Qualifications

• 4+ years experience in land development, concept plan preparation, site design, stormwater management, erosion, and sediment control design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• BS Civil Engineering (BSCE).
• EIT certification preferred; PE is a plus.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Grade sites and design post‑construction stormwater management systems.
• Use Civil 3D to prepare alignments, surfaces, cut profiles, and generate contours.
• Assist Senior Engineer in procuring municipal Land Development and NPDES approvals, researching regulations, and attending agency meetings.
• Coordinate with project team across multiple offices on design, permitting, and construction components.
• Prepare technical reports and plans to acquire permits and permit modifications during construction.
• Research permit requirements and local regulations.
• Provide support and assist senior team members.
