Job summary

VHB is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our Land Development team in Watertown, MA. You’ll work alongside engineers, geomatics, and planners on site civil design for complex projects from day one in a collaborative, hybrid setting.

Ideal candidates have a BS in Civil Engineering, 1–3+ years of land development experience, and EIT/FE in progress. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and MS Office is required; knowledge of HydroCAD or BIM 360 is a plus.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or related degree.
• 1–3+ years of civil engineering experience in land development, site design, or related areas.
• EIT licensure or FE Exam passed preferred (or in progress).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Experience with HydroCAD, WaterCAD, WaterGEMS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop site civil engineering plans and specifications for land development projects.
• Prepare site layouts, grading, drainage, utilities, erosion control using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Contribute to construction documents, specs, and engineering reports with high quality.
• Support stormwater management and sustainable site design to improve resilience.
• Collaborate with other offices and disciplines on integrated projects.
• Mentor junior staff on technical standards and best practices.
