Job summary

Dennis Group in Salt Lake City is seeking a Civil Engineering student to join our Building Systems team on land development projects for food and beverage facilities. You will assist with design tasks, CAD drafting, permit applications, and coordination with engineers and architects.

You will gain hands-on experience in site grading, drainage, and infrastructure design, while traveling to project sites up to 25%. GPA and ongoing civil engineering studies are required.

Qualifications

• Sophomore, Junior, or Senior pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering degree.
• GPA: 3.0 or above.
• 0-3 years of experience or schooling in civil engineering tasks involving industrial construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic design tasks and assist with permitting drawings and CAD work.
• Assist in bid development, bid tabulation, and preliminary bid evaluation.
• Learn plan reading and navigate discipline-specific drawings.
• Assist with construction administration and submittal reviews.
• Develop site basis of design documentation and parking layouts.
• Analyze land development sites and hydrology for industrial projects.
• Prepare land development plans and coordinate with project teams.
• Visit project sites to observe field conditions and resolve design constraints.
