Job summary

Pape-Dawson Engineers seeks an Engineer in Training II in Houston, TX to assist in planning, design, analysis, and delivery of civil site development projects under the guidance of a licensed PE. The role involves grading, drainage, paving, utilities, reports, and coordination with agencies to ensure permitting and compliance.

The candidate should have a Civil Engineering degree (ABET-accredited) and at least 1 year of relevant experience, with EIT preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• EIT certification preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant engineering experience.
• Working knowledge of design principles, codes and standards.
• Proficiency with common engineering software and drafting tools.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support design and preparation of civil site development plans for commercial and mixed-use projects.
• Perform site layout, earthwork calculations, and stormwater analyses.
• Assist with reports, exhibits, and documentation for zoning, entitlement, and permitting approvals.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies to support permitting and compliance.
• Prepare engineering calculations and design deliverables under guidance of senior engineers.
• Communicate technical information clearly through written documents and drawings.
• Manage assigned tasks to meet schedules and quality expectations.
