The City of Monroe, NC is seeking a Civil Engineer to participate in planning, design and construction of utility projects. The position involves preparing designs, bid documents and project management with supervision from the Water Resources Engineering and Construction Manager.

Qualified candidates have a civil engineering degree and 2–4 years of utility engineering experience, with CAD software skills. A North Carolina driver's license and Engineer Intern cert are preferred.

Competenze

• Thorough knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices for plans and specs.
• Two to four years’ experience in utility engineering or related field.
• Experience with computer aided design software (CAD).

Mansioni

• Coordinate, develop, and design public utility infrastructure projects and develop plans and specs.
• Design water and sewer main extensions for subdivisions and commercial developments.
• Review building permit utility approval applications for developments.
• Provide technical information to contractors and the public on engineering projects.
• Coordinate activities of construction inspectors and document project activities.
• Support program management and self-permitting initiatives within Water Resources.
