Job summary

Carollo Engineers, a leading water-focused engineering firm in Durham, NC, seeks an experienced engineer to plan, design, and oversee municipal water and wastewater projects. The candidate will lead technical assignments, evaluate treatment facilities, perform hydraulic calculations, and coordinate multidisciplinary teams to deliver quality results.

Ideal candidates have 6–12 years in water/wastewater design, NC PE registration, and familiarity with local design standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering or a related field.
6–12 years of relevant water and wastewater engineering experience, with significant planning and design experience.
Experience delivering municipal water/wastewater projects in the Raleigh-Durham market.
NC Professional Engineer registration.

Responsibilities

Plan, schedule, and lead technical assignments for municipal water and wastewater projects and associated infrastructure.
Evaluate existing treatment facilities, analyze operating data, and develop alternatives and recommendations.
Perform process and hydraulic calculations to evaluate, size, and select treatment systems and equipment.
Coordinate the work of other disciplines, designers, and subconsultants.
May serve as project manager on smaller projects, depending on experience.
