Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of five (5) years of civil engineering experience.
• Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Certification.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a Georgia Professional Engineering (PE) License within two years of employment.

Responsibilities

• Regulates development of new subdivisions and commercial sites; reviews and approves construction plans and calculations for compliance.
• Inspects ongoing and completed developments for compliance; issues violations and stop-work orders as needed.
• Issues Land Disturbing Activities permits.
• Researches and drafts policies and ordinances for approval by County Commission.
• Provides information and recommendations to the County Manager, Commissioners, and department heads.
