Job summary

Effingham County Board of Commissioners is seeking a Department Head of Engineering to lead County Engineering Services and oversee major capital projects from planning through turnover. You will supervise division leads, coordinate design and procurement, and ensure compliance with regulations across Roads, Stormwater, Parks, and Utilities.

The role requires a GA PE license or ability to obtain licensure by comity, a bachelor's in civil engineering, and 7+ years of progressive engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• PE license in GA or ability to obtain by comity within county timeframe.
• 7+ years of progressive engineering or capital project experience with supervisory roles.

Responsibilities

• Direct, organize, and evaluate work of County Engineering Services teams.
• Set priorities, procedures, standards, and project assignment practices.
