Job summary

Bowman in San Diego, CA, is hiring a Civil Engineer II to evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques on moderately complex projects. You will work with senior engineers, clients, and agencies to develop plans, calculations, and reports for land/site development.

The role involves coordinating detailed project work, reviewing design computations, and contributing to multidisciplinary efforts. A path toward PE and EIT support is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field required at time of hire.
• EIT certification and/or progress toward PE license preferred.
• Three or more years of civil engineering experience; land/site development preferred.
• Experience with Civil3D, AutoCAD, and related design software.
• Ability to read construction plans and interpret standards.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize the initial civil design approach for assigned land/site development phases.
• Evaluate and apply standard engineering techniques on moderately complex projects.
• Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed phases of assigned work.
• Prepare reports, specifications, and estimates; review calculations and drawings.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, clients, agencies, and sub-consultants.

Education

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field

EIT certification or progress toward PE

3+ years of civil engineering experience
