Job summary

Josh Pros LLC is seeking a Civil Engineer EI to join our team at our Cedar Rapids area offices. The role is full-time, on-site, with openings for two engineers. Candidates should have FE/EI and interest in PE licensure, with experience in civil design and client coordination.

The position involves independent work under a licensed PE, mentorship from senior engineers, and engagement in design tasks including hydraulics and stormwater calculations. Travel to client sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college/university.
• FE exam completed and EI designation; interest in PE license.
• Software: Microsoft Office Suite, Autodesk Civil 3D, Bluebeam Revu.
• Understanding of the practical application of civil engineering to project design.
• Knowledge of civil design techniques, tools, and principles for technical plans and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Work independently or under direct supervision of a licensed PE.
• Receive training and mentorship from experienced civil design engineers.
• Apply knowledge of materials, hydraulic analysis, utility design, and roadway geometry to designs.
• Work as part of a team and independently.
• Research unfamiliar knowledge and techniques from manuals and resources.
• Perform calculations, coordinate design elements, and document specs.
• Calculate stormwater runoff, slopes, and quantities.
• Communicate clearly with coworkers, clients, and the public.
• Travel to client sites for reviews and field verifications.
• Pass screening and background checks for site access.
