Job summary

CEDARVILLE Engineering Group, LLC (CEG) is seeking a Civil Engineer I to contribute from day one on real projects across grading, drainage, site layout, and construction docs. You will work with senior engineers, own deliverables, and grow toward professional licensure while supporting federal and municipal projects.

The role emphasizes hands-on design, collaboration, and accountability, with opportunities for field coordination and mentorship within a growing team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program.
• 0–3 years of civil engineering experience (internship or co-op counts).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; Civil 3D experience a strong plus.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• EIT certification required (or actively pursuing).

Responsibilities

• Prepare grading plans, drainage designs, and erosion & sediment control plans.
• Develop detailed site layouts and construction drawings using AutoCAD / Civil 3D.
• Perform engineering calculations and assist in preparing technical reports.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver compliant, constructible designs.
• Self-check every deliverable before it leaves your desk — your initials mean it's right.
• Assist with permit applications and agency coordination.
• Support construction-phase services including site visits, RFI responses, and submittal reviews.
• Maintain organized project documentation and track deliverable schedules.
• Communicate clearly with project managers, clients, and contractors.
• Work alongside senior engineers and actively seek mentorship.
