Job summary

Air Combat Command seeks a professional civil engineer to perform design, project programming, and construction management/monitoring duties on a military installation. You will qualify under OPM standards for GS professional positions and may be required to submit transcripts.

The role requires knowledge across civil engineering disciplines and licensure or eligibility for licensure. Applicants should have ABET‑accredited education, eligibility for EI/EIT/PE, and experience with design

Qualifications

• ABET‑accredited engineering degree is required.
• Engineering calculus and physics/chemistry coursework must be included.
• Professional registration or licensure (EI/EIT or PE) is required.
• FE examination or equivalent licensure steps must be completed.
• At least 60 semester hours in physical, mathematical and engineering sciences.
• Related curricula may be accepted with at least 1 year of professional engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and project programming for civil engineering projects.
• Provide construction management and site monitoring on a military installation.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards and project Justifications.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and prepare working drawings as needed.

Education

ABET‑accredited engineering degree

Engineering degree with calculus coursework

Professional registration: EI/EIT/PE

Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam

60 semester hours in physical, mathematical and engineering sciences

Related curriculum with 1 year professional engineering experience
