Job summary

Schnabel's Helena, Montana office is seeking a civil engineer to support our dams engineering group. You will work on evaluating and designing dams, fish hatcheries, intakes, and pipelines across the United States as part of a strong multi-disciplinary team.

We require a ABET-accredited civil engineering bachelor's degree with 0–5 years of design or construction consulting experience, EIT, and willingness to travel for field work; Master’s in civil/structural engineering is preferred but not

Qualifications

ABET-accredited civil engineering bachelor’s degree is required.
EIT certification and potential to become a Licensed PE.
0–5 years design- and/or construction-oriented consulting experience.
Willingness to perform field work and travel.
Proficiency with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D; experience with Revit is a plus.

Responsibilities

Analyze and design water infrastructure components such as gates, valves, pipelines and pumps.
Perform field inspections of dams and hydraulic structures and collect data.
Develop engineering recommendations and write technical reports.
Prepare complete engineering plans and specifications for construction documents.
Create 2D designs in AutoCAD and 3D models in AutoCAD Civil 3D / Revit.
Estimate probable construction costs and assist with project teams.
