Job summary

GRAEF, headquartered in Milwaukee, invites two students to join its Co‑op program starting Summer 2027. You will gain hands-on experience across civil engineering disciplines on real world projects and work as part of a project team.

The program features four Co‑op sessions, exposure to sewer and water systems, environmental engineering, site development, municipal engineering, surveying, construction inspection, and street/highway/bridge design, with mentorship from seasoned engineers.

Qualifications

• Be in or approaching sophomore status with a projected graduation year of 2030 and pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Construction, or Environmental Engineering.
• Ability to learn quickly, grasp new concepts, and take initiative.
• Enjoy a balance of independent work and collaboration with a project team.

Responsibilities

• Co‑op students will gain hands-on experience by contributing to real engineering projects across multiple civil disciplines.
• Work on sewer and water systems, environmental engineering, site development, and municipal engineering projects.
• Collaborate with experienced engineers and professionals to develop technical skills and professional networks.

GRAEF celebrated our 65th anniversary this past July. We have grown to a staff of over 300 engineers, architects, scientists, planners, technical specialists and corporate group members. We have an exciting opportunity for 2 students to join our team of professionals through a Co-op experience at our Milwaukee Headquarters office, beginning in Summer 2027.

As a Co-op student, you’ll gain valuable, hands‑on experience through 4 Co-op sessions. You’ll have the opportunity to explore a broad range of civil engineering disciplines and contribute to real‑world projects involving sewer and water systems, environmental engineering, site development, municipal engineering, surveying, construction inspection, and street, highway, traffic, and bridge design. This is a great opportunity to build your technical skills, gain exposure to different areas of civil engineering, and learn from experienced professionals while working as part of a project team.

We are looking for students who meet the following qualifications:

• Be in or approachingsophomore status, with a projected graduation year of 2030, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Construction, or Environmental Engineering.
• Ability to learn quickly, grasp new concepts, and take initiative.
• Enjoy a balance of independent work and collaboration with a project team.
• Prior internship or related work experience is a plus.
• Completion of a Surveying courseand experience with Civil3D software is a plus.
