Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or closely related field is required; supplemented by 5 months previous experience and/or training involving engineering plan review, project management, computer-aided engineering design, or personal computer operations.
• Virginia Engineer-in-Training certification preferred.
• Must possess and maintain valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate complex capital improvement projects, including streets, drainage, utilities, or facility improvements.
• Administer contracts and supervise design of CIP projects; monitor expenditures and project schedules.
• Review private development plans for compliance with city codes and standards; coordinate with agencies and developers.
• Provide technical guidance and supervision to staff; assist in grant writing and monitoring grant expenditures.
