Job summary

The City of Surprise is seeking an experienced civil/traffic engineer who can perform advanced reviews with independence. The incumbent will oversee and coordinate moderately complex engineering projects in land development, ensuring quality and compliance with standards.

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with at least two years of civil or traffic engineering design and review experience.

SUMMARY

Incumbents perform advanced civil and traffic engineering reviews that demand a higher level of technical expertise and independent judgment than the Associate level. This role is responsible for overseeing and coordinating moderately complex engineering projects.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and two (2) years of civil and/or Traffic Engineering design and review experience in land development projects. Additional education cannot be substituted for experience.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must have at time of hire a valid Arizona Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certificate.

Must have at time of hire and be able to maintain a valid Arizona Driver License.
