Job summary

The City of Peoria’s Development and Engineering Department seeks a Civil Engineer to join the Site Development Division. This full‑time role focuses on engineering reviews of development projects, from planning through permitting, inspection, including residential subdivisions, multi‑family, commercial, industrial, and capital projects.

Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing grading/ drainage/ water and sewer/ paving plans, SWPPP, signing/striping, streetlight and landscape plans,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum four years professional engineering experience.
• Registered Professional Engineer license required on hire.
• Arizona Driver's License required upon hire.
• Experience with municipal plan review and permit process.
• Experience with land development: entitlement, permitting and construction.
• Drainage and floodplain design experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering reviews of development projects to ensure compliance with code and design standards.
• Complete development engineering reviews including Grading and Drainage Plans, Water and Sewer Plans, Paving Plans, SWPPP, Signing/Striping, Streetlight, Landscaping Plans, MID & SLID, Plats, Drainage and Soil Reports.
• Coordinate with internal and external customers to review and process development projects from planning to permitting and inspection.
• Attend meetings and clearly communicate engineering requirements to developers, engineers, planners, architects, city officials and the public.
