The role involves design in land development and preparation of construction documents for roads, storm drainage systems, stormwater management facilities, water and sanitary sewer utilities, sediment and erosion control, and traffic control for residential, commercial, and institutional projects.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a small team on civil site/land development design, permitting, and construction observation for various projects.
- Utilize Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D software for land development project designs.
- Perform technical design calculations (e.g., storm drainage hydraulic sizing, water distribution modeling, BMPs, sanitary sewer systems, erosion control measures).
- Conduct preliminary engineering evaluations, including quantity take-offs and cost estimations.
- Perform site visits and prepare field reports.
- Coordinate and observe field testing (e.g., water pressure testing, gravity sewer low pressure testing, manhole vacuum testing).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (BSCE) or Engineering Technology (BSCET).
- EI/EIT certification required; PE preferred.
- 2+ years of civil engineering design experience.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong desire to continue learning and advance professionally.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, design team environment.
- Must pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record per company policy.
