About the role

Techno is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our corporate team in New Jersey/New York. In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape the technical direction of major infrastructure programs, mentor and develop junior engineers, and collaborate on projects having a lasting impact on regional mobility and public safety.

What you'll do

  • Serve as the technical authority on rail bridge and structural engineering projects, offering expert guidance and mentorship to project teams.
  • Lead the development and execution of project plans, ensuring alignment with quality standards, technical specifications, and client expectations.
  • Review and approve engineering deliverables for structural integrity, code compliance, and overall design quality.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging innovative engineering solutions and creative problem-solving.
  • Build and sustain productive relationships with clients, consultants, regulatory agencies, and internal teams to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
  • Provide oversight on the design and rehabilitation of structural systems, including complex bridges and retaining walls, ensuring optimal performance and constructability.

Qualifications

  • 15 years of progressive experience in structural engineering, with a focus on rail and/or transit infrastructure.
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a closely related field.
  • Previous experience collaborating with agencies such as NJT, AMTRAK, NYCDOT, NYSDOT, TBTA, and PANYNJ is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with freight rail infrastructure and design-build project delivery methods is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across multidisciplinary teams and client organizations.
  • Highly adaptable, collaborative, and proactive in a dynamic project environment.

The expected salary range for this role in the New York City Metropolitan Area is $150,000 - $280,000 per year.The total compensation, including salary and bonuses, is determined by various factors such as experience, skill level, location, and qualifications, which are evaluated during the interview process
