The Opportunity:
Tetra Tech is seeking a Civil PE with strong technical design experience and deep knowledge of the New York market. This role focuses on a wide range of site/civil infrastructure projects, including site development, utilities, grading, stormwater management, and horizontal design. Flexibility to work remotely when traveling is available, but candidates must be local experts.

Your Role:

Lead and support site/civil design for land development and public infrastructure projects, including grading, stormwater, erosion control, utilities, and site layout

Produce and review construction documents, technical specifications, and cost estimates

Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D for horizontal alignments, site design, surface modeling, and plan production

Support stormwater modeling and permitting efforts in accordance with local, state, and federal requirements

Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and other disciplines for fully integrated design packages

Serve as a technical resource for junior engineers and provide QA/QC on project deliverables

Participate in client meetings and maintain positive working relationships with municipal and private-sector clients

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline

Professional Engineer (PE) license in New York (or ability to obtain through reciprocity)

8–10 years of experience in civil/site design (urban infill, commercial, institutional, or municipal)

Proficient in Civil 3D (surface creation, alignments, profiles, grading, and utility design)

Working knowledge of stormwater modeling tools (e.g., HydroCAD, ICPR, PCSWMM, or similar)

Familiarity with site permitting processes and NY design codes

Excellent technical writing, documentation, and communication skills

Must be currently based in or deeply familiar with the New York market

NY Salary: $80,000 - $166,000 dependent on experience.
