Job description

We are a Miami-based civil engineering firm designing infrastructure that moves, protects, and sustains South Florida communities. We work directly with local agencies — including Miami‑Dade Water and Sewer (WASD), FDOT, and municipal public works departments — on water/wastewater systems, stormwater drainage, roadway design, and site development projects.

What You’ll Do
  • Prepare civil engineering construction drawings and technical specifications using AutoCAD Civil 3D for roadway, drainage, water main, and site development projects.
  • Attend and participate in project meetings with municipal clients and public agencies such as Miami‑Dade WASD, FDOT, City of Miami, and Miami‑Dade County Public Works.
  • Perform hydraulic and hydrologic analysis using SWMM, HEC‑HMS, and ICPR for stormwater and drainage design.
  • Prepare permit applications and engineering reports for submission to regulatory agencies including SFWMD, DERM, and FDOT.
  • Conduct site visits and construction observation to verify work is built per plans and specifications.
  • Coordinate with subconsultants (surveyors, geotechnical, environmental) and project stakeholders throughout design and construction phases.
  • Support project managers with quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and project scheduling.
What We’re Looking For (Required)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (ABET‑accredited program).
  • 2+ years of civil engineering experience in South Florida, with exposure to municipal infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D for design and plan production.
  • Working knowledge of FDOT Design Standards, Miami‑Dade County design criteria, and Florida Building Code as it applies to site/civil work.
  • Demonstrated experience — or strong familiarity — interacting with municipal and government agencies (WASD, FDOT, SFWMD, Miami‑Dade County, etc.).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to represent the firm professionally with clients and agencies.
Preferred (not required)
  • Engineer Intern (EI) certification / passed FE Exam.
  • Experience with hydraulic modeling software: SWMM, ICPR, HEC‑RAS, or WaterGEMS.
  • Familiarity with SFWMD Environmental Resource Permit (ERP) process.
  • Experience with GIS / ArcGIS for mapping and spatial analysis.
  • Working toward or interested in obtaining Florida PE license.
Why Join Us
  • Work on real projects with direct community impact across Miami‑Dade and Broward counties.
  • Direct mentorship and a clear path toward PE licensure — we support your exam prep and exam fees.
  • Small team environment: you'll work alongside senior PEs, not get lost in a large firm hierarchy.
  • Competitive salary, health insurance, PTO, and performance-based bonuses.
  • Miami-based office — no relocation required.
