Base pay range
$85,000.00/yr - $120,000.00/yr
Position Summary:
A Civil Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and supervising infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, buildings, airports, tunnels, dams, and water supply systems. They ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and plan infrastructure and construction projects using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- Conduct site investigations and assess technical and environmental factors.
- Prepare and review project drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, health and safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Oversee construction and maintenance of infrastructure, ensuring adherence to project plans and specifications.
- Manage project resources, budgets, and timelines.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, government officials, and clients.
- Analyze survey reports, maps, and other data to plan projects effectively.
- Perform risk, material, and cost analysis.
- Resolve design and development problems.
- Prepare and present reports and proposals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification (preferred or required, depending on region).
- Proficient in engineering design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, STAAD Pro, or similar.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Typically works both in an office and on construction sites.
- May involve travel to project locations.
- Often works in teams with other engineers, planners, and construction personnel.
