Job summary

Futures Consulting, LLC in Denver, CO seeks an experienced Civil Land Development Engineer to lead site development and utility design on diverse projects. You will collaborate with clients and a multidisciplinary team to advance from initial design through construction.

The ideal candidate has strong experience with grading, drainage, stormwater management, and permitting, with AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency. PE licensure is preferred, and EIT near licensure will be considered.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • PE license preferred; EIT near licensure considered.
  • Experience with site design, grading, drainage, stormwater, and utility design.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Ability to work with clients and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform civil engineering design for commercial, residential, mixed-use, industrial, and other land development projects.
  • Prepare site development plans, grading plans, drainage plans, utility plans, and construction documents.
  • Perform grading, drainage, stormwater, and utility calculations.
  • Coordinate with engineers, designers, architects, landscape architects, surveyors, and other project team members.
  • Assist with permitting and coordination with municipalities and reviewing agencies.
  • Provide technical direction and support to other members of the project team.
  • Perform quality control reviews of drawings and design documents.
  • Assist with resolving design and construction-related issues.
  • Communicate directly with clients, contractors, and reviewing agencies regarding project requirements.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and designers.
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining project schedules and deadlines.

Job description

A well-established, growing engineering consulting firm is seeking a Civil Land Development Engineer to join its team in Denver, CO. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced civil engineer who enjoys working on diverse development projects, interacting with clients, and collaborating with engineers, designers, architects, and other project partners.

The ideal candidate will have experience with site development, grading, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, and construction document preparation and will be comfortable taking increasing ownership of projects from initial design through construction.

Responsibilities

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
  • EIT candidates who are approaching PE licensure will also be considered
  • Previous civil land development experience within a consulting engineering environment
  • Experience with site design, grading, drainage, stormwater management, and utility design
  • Working knowledge of applicable local and state development standards and permitting requirements
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering design principles, standards, and construction practices
  • Ability to review drawings and calculations for accuracy and quality
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable communicating directly with clients, contractors, municipalities, and other consultants
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a collaborative team
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
