Job summary

SMMA seeks a Civil Engineer to join its Site Design team. You will work with senior staff through all project phases, coordinating with multiple design disciplines and exposing you to a variety of project and client types. The role may be based in Cambridge, MA; Providence, RI; or Manchester, NH offices.

You will contribute from concept design to construction documents and during construction administration, including environmental permitting at federal, state, and local levels.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 8–12 years’ experience.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer or working towards registration.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Hydrocad and MS Office.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Job description

SMMA is seeking a Civil Engineer to join SMMA’s Site Design team, a talented group of designers and problem-solvers. This position is for an engineer that will work with senior team members on site design through all phases of a project. Given SMMA’s integrated and multidisciplinary composition, the role affords a chance to coordinate and work closely with staff across numerous areas of design expertise and provides exposure to a variety of project and client types.

The candidate will be active throughout projects’ full lifecycles, from concept design to final construction documents, and during construction administration. The position includes environmental permitting applications and processes at federal, state, and local level s.

Key Responsibilities:

The approximate pay range for Cambridge, MA is $80,000 - $100,000.

Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s qualifications.
