Job summary

Summit Design and Engineering Services in Colorado is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to lead the planning, development, and execution of civil projects with minimal supervision.

The role centers on serving as the main client liaison, developing proposals and budgets, and coordinating schedules while ensuring QA/QC and regulatory compliance. You will mentor junior staff and manage sub-consultants, contributing to business development efforts.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering (BSCE) from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in site/civil design, with a strong portfolio of retail, commercial, public sector, and residential projects.
• Expertise in site layout, grading, storm drainage, stormwater management, water and sewer utilities, and erosion control.
• In-depth knowledge of local entitlement and permitting regulations.
• Proficiency in technical design software: Autodesk Civil 3D (required), Hydraflow Storm Sewers/Hydrographs, WaterCAD, and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Proven ability to lead and collaborate with diverse project teams.
• A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a passion for client service.
• Willingness to participate in professional development, local events, and community engagement.
