Job summary

Kimley-Horn's McKinney, TX office is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with 2+ years of experience to join our Land Development team. This is not a remote position.

You will perform site development engineering and project management for a variety of projects, utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D, hydrology modeling, and storm drainage programs. You will participate in site civil design, permitting, and bid package preparation with mentorship and exposure to client interactions.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with a civil engineering design firm.
• ABET-accredited Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and related design tools.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform site development engineering and project management for diverse projects.
• Complete site civil design, permitting, and use of hydrology modeling, storm drainage programs, AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Develop land development site designs and related documentation.
• Assist with research, coordination, cost estimating, permitting for land disturbance, and bid package preparation.
• Receive on-the-job training and mentorship with exposure to plan production, project financials, and client interactions.
