Job summary

Parkhill is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training for Site Development & Planning to support planning, design, and execution of land development projects under licensed engineers. This role helps prepare engineering documents, calculations, and analyses for commercial, municipal, and mixed-use developments.

The position develops foundational technical skills while delivering high-quality, compliant, and constructible site solutions. It is a full-time, exempt role paid on a salary basis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
  • EIT obtained.
  • At least 2 years of experience (preferred).
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and ArcGIS is preferred.
  • Excellent client and team communication.

Responsibilities

  • Contact city staff and agencies for project coordination and data collection.
  • Support basic design and calculations to support site grading, drainage analysis, water and sanitary sewer utilities and paving improvements.
  • Assist in the development of construction plans, specifications, and Opinions of Probable Costs.
  • Collaborate with team members on design specifications and timelines.
  • Perform field observation work when necessary, under minimal supervision.

Overview

The Site Development & Planning Civil Engineer-in-Training supports the planning, design, and execution of land development projects under the guidance of licensed engineers. This role contributes to the preparation of engineering documents, calculations, and technical analyses for projects such as commercial, municipal, and mixed-use developments.
