Job summary

RESPEC, a 100% employee-owned engineering firm, seeks a Civil EIT to join our Alaska offices in Fairbanks, Anchorage, Palmer, Soldotna, and Juneau. You will contribute to hands-on infrastructure design for public and private sector clients, gaining experience across transportation, water, and energy projects.

This entry-level role offers growth through mentorship, exposure to multi-discipline design, and the chance to advance toward licensure while working on challenging projects across Alaska.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Engineer-in-Training or the ability to obtain within one year.
• Solid knowledge of Word, Excel, and Teams.
• Self-motivated, energetic, and able to take on new tasks.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
• Detail oriented and well organized with deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Design infrastructure in our Alaska offices (Fairbanks, Anchorage, Palmer, Soldotna, Juneau).
• Work on multidiscipline design and construction projects for public and private clients.
• Grow professionally through hands-on engineering design in RESPEC’s Transportation Market Sector.

Job Description

RESPEC, an internationally recognized engineering consulting company, seeks a Civil EIT (Engineer in Training) to join our Fairbanks, Anchorage, Palmer, Soldotna, and Juneau, AK office.

The Civil EIT designs various types of projects in our Fairbanks, Anchorage, Palmer, Soldotna, and Juneau, Alaska office for public and private sector clients. This is a hands-on engineering design position in RESPEC’s Transportation Market Sector and will include working on variety of multidiscipline design and construction projects. This is a great career opportunity for a dynamic, energetic individual looking to grow in their profession while gaining valuable experience on a wide variety of projects performed across Alaska.

Qualifications

Required

• B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution
• Engineer-in-Training or the ability to obtain within one year.
• Solid knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Teams.
• Self-motivated, energetic, and able to take on new tasks.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
• Detail oriented & well organized with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record; position requires operating a company or personal vehicle during work hours for business-related travel.

Preferred

• Experience in construction
• Knowledge of Civil3D modeling (corridors, grading, pipe models, etc.), quantities, calculations, and cost estimating is a plus.
• Experience in preparing design drawings and design calculations for utility, site, and roadway improvement projects.
