Job summary

Thomas & Hutton is seeking a Civil Engineer Designer EIT II in Brunswick, GA to take greater design ownership and mature into independent design work. You will leverage Civil 3D, coordinate technicians, and engage in initial client-facing activities to support licensure progress.

You will prepare plans, estimates, and reports while adhering to company standards and schedules, with opportunities to collaborate on land development projects and projects with clients and agencies.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology.
EIT certification strongly preferred.
2+ years of experience designing land development projects using Civil 3D.
Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D software applications.

Responsibilities

Prepare routine design calculations and data for more complex analyses.
Exercise independent judgment on design issues within an assigned scope.
Draft project plans, specifications, exhibits, and reports; coordinate technicians.
Prepare quantity and cost estimates; support construction plans and design considerations.
Follow company graphic standards with Civil 3D proficiency.
Prepare permit applications and bid packages; help keep projects on schedule and budget.
Occasional client contact and coordination, including project meetings.
Communicate project status to the Project Manager and maintain CADD standards.
