Job summary

LaBella Associates is seeking a Civil Designer for our Richmond, VA office with 2–5 years of civil design experience. A hybrid schedule is negotiable with in-office presence expected.

The role encompasses design development, calculations, and producing drawings and specifications to support construction and closeout. The candidate should have a BS in Civil Engineering, with Virginia design experience preferred.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or other supporting technical degree with 2–5 years of design experience.
• Virginia design experience required; District of Columbia and Maryland design experience are a plus.
• A PE license is not required but a FE certification is not required.
• Design experience in Virginia is required; DC/MD design experience is a plus.
• VA DEQ Erosion and Sediment Control Plan Reviewer Certification is a plus.
• VDOT Experience is a plus.
• Experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D and/or Microstation/InRoads and the ability to use either in designing utilities and grading is mandatory.
• Proficiency with HydroCAD, AutoTURN, Storm and Sanitary Analysis is necessary to satisfactorily complete the assignments.

Responsibilities

• Contributing to all phases of Civil Engineering projects including the development of design concepts, performing detailed calculations, collaborating with other engineers and technical staff during detail design, producing effective and high-quality drawings and specifications, managing bid phases, and supporting projects through construction and final closeout
