Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Civil Design Technician Intern for the BIAF program in Corvallis, OR. You will work with professional engineers and designers on civil site design, drafting standards, and BIM workflows using Bentley MicroStation and AutoCAD.

The role is hybrid, requiring in-person work 16–20 hours per week while you complete your degree. Excellent written and verbal communication and time management are essential to succeed in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in a degree program in CAD or Engineering.
• Must be willing to work in Corvallis office 16–20 hours per week. More hours welcome.

Your impact

We are looking for a Civil Design Technician Intern for BIAF for our Corvallis, OR, Office. This role is meant for anyone currently enrolled in school who is working towards a degree in Computer Aided Drafting or Engineering. This position is considered Hybrid and will require you to work in person at least two days per week.

During your internship you will use Bentley and AutoDesk as well as a large number of other specialty software. Each designer works on multiple projects at the same time, providing 2D and eventually 3D BIM design. You will learn new CAD tools on the job and gain valuable work experience. The office provides a very friendly, personable environment where we are flexible with our employees need to support our families and communities as desired.

You will work alongside professional engineers and designers, gaining exposure to civil site design, plan production, drafting standards, CAD workflows, project coordination and computer assisted engineering tools

Here’s what you’ll need

• - Must be currently enrolled in secondary education courses and working towards a degree in CAD or Engineering.
• - Must be willing to work in the Corvallis office a minimum of 16-20 hours a week on average while finishing school. More hours are always welcome.
• - Reliable, focused, and detail-oriented.
• -Authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship, now or in the future

Ideally, you’ll have:

• - CAD application understanding preferred in Micro Station and ACAD but will help teach our 3D modeling platforms on job.

The base salary range for this position is $47,300.00 to $58,000.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
