Job summary

Omaha Public Power District in Omaha, Nebraska is seeking a Lead Civil Design Engineer to provide structural leadership for capital upgrade projects at fossil fuel generating stations. You will design foundations, pipe supports, equipment supports, retaining structures, and erosion-control solutions through all project phases.

You will lead teams, oversee calculations, analyses, drawings, specs, and ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Must hold Professional Engineer license in Nebraska or be eligible to obtain Nebraska registration within 6 months through reciprocity and relevant experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with structural emphasis or closely related field.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily engineering team operations and align with project priorities.
• Review calculations, structural analyses, drawings, specs, foundation plans, pipe supports, and erosion-mitigation designs.
• Lead design activities for major capital projects and ensure suitable structural solutions for new systems and upgrades.
• Manage project workstreams from concept to closeout, including budgeting, procurement, and scheduling.
• Coordinate workload, manpower, and timely delivery of quality engineering packages.
