Job summary

Thomas & Hutton is offering a civil engineering internship in the Southeast, where you will support land‑development projects on real assignments and learn from seasoned mentors. You’ll gain hands‑on experience while contributing to site design, drafting, and documentation under close supervision.

The program welcomes students pursuing a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering or related field, with basic AutoCAD and exposure to Civil 3D preferred.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Interest in land development and site design projects.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD; exposure to Civil 3D preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of site-development plans for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
• Support the design of water, sewer, and storm-drainage layouts and construction drawings.
• Assist with permit packages and coordination with regulatory agencies.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and design teams on daily tasks.
• Support modeling and drafting efforts using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Assist with project documentation and organization to support scope, schedule, and quality goals.

What You'll Do

Schedule

On-site: Monday–Thursday 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.; Friday 7:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m.
(Schedule may be flexible based on academic commitments.)
