Job summary

Thomas & Hutton is inviting driven civil engineering students to join as interns and contribute to real-world land-development projects in the Southeast. You will work under seasoned mentors, gaining hands-on experience while supporting planning, design, and documentation tasks.

The internship emphasizes hands-on learning, collaboration with project teams, and exposure to industry-leading tools and software.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Interest in land development and site design.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD; Civil 3D exposure preferred.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to learn and contribute in a team setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of site-development plans for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
• Support the design of water, sewer, and storm-drainage layouts and construction drawings.
• Assist with permit packages and coordination with regulatory agencies.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and design teams on daily project tasks.
• Support modeling and drafting efforts using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Assist with project documentation and organization to support scope, schedule, and quality goals.

What You'll Do

Schedule

On-site: Monday-Thursday 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.; Friday 7:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
(Schedule may be flexible based on academic commitments.)
