Job summary

Thomas & Hutton is offering an on-site civil engineering internship in the Southeast. You’ll gain hands-on experience supporting real-world land-development projects, learn from seasoned mentors, and grow within a Best Place to Work environment.

You’ll apply classroom knowledge to practical tasks, collaborate with project managers and engineers, and develop skills with AutoCAD Civil 3D while supporting plans, permits, and project documentation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Interest in land development and site design projects.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD; Civil 3D exposure preferred.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing site-development plans for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
• Support the design of water, sewer, and storm-drainage layouts and construction drawings.
• Assist with permit packages and coordination with regulatory agencies.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and design teams on daily tasks.
• Support modeling and drafting efforts using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Assist with project documentation and organization to support scope, schedule, and quality goals.

Schedule:

On-site: Monday-Thursday 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.; Friday 7:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
(Schedule may be flexible based on academic commitments.)
