Job summary

Thomas & Hutton invites engineering students to join a hands-on internship shaping Southeast land-development projects. You will learn from experienced mentors, support real-world site design, and gain exposure to industry-leading tools and processes.

The program emphasizes relationship-building, practical application of classroom knowledge, and opportunities to develop toward a full-time engineering career within a private, employee-owned firm.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Interest in land development and site design projects.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD; exposure to Civil 3D preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of site-development plans for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
• Support design of water, sewer, and storm-drainage layouts and construction drawings.
• Assist with permit packages and coordination with regulatory agencies.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and design teams on daily project tasks.
• Support modeling and drafting efforts using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Assist with project documentation and organization to support scope, schedule, and quality goals.

Schedule:

On‑site: Monday–Thursday 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.; Friday 7:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. (Schedule may be flexible based on academic commitments.)
