Job summary

Kleinfelder’s Design team is seeking Civil Engineers/Designers to work on challenging site-civil land development projects in the Mid-Atlantic Region, reporting to the Hunt Valley, Maryland office.

You will perform design of grading, drainage, utilities, and access layouts, conduct field investigations, prepare agency submission packages, and assist with permitting and approvals through agencies. This role emphasizes collaboration across disciplines and professional growth.

Qualifications

• BSCE from ABET accredited program.
• 4–8 years of design experience in site-civil field.
• EIT Certification.
• PE or ability to obtain PE within 6 months.
• AutoCAD skills required; Civil 3D experience highly desirable.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
• Valid driver’s license; relocation may be required.

Responsibilities

• Design all aspects of site-civil engineering projects including layout, grading, earthwork, drainage, utilities, and erosion/sediment control.
• Conduct field investigations to determine existing conditions.
• Prepare agency design submission packages for reviews/approvals.
• Coordinate permitting with local, state, and federal agencies and complete as-built drawings.
• Interpret applicable codes and draft technical specifications.
• Travel to project/client sites as needed.
